Liked the upgraded wire in the Deluxe package. Solid wire performs better than stranded for this application.

As an underground fence owner for over 15 years, this is the best collar that I have used. It is durable and easy to use. I have trained three beagles to the fence system and have been told that beagles cannot be trained to an electric fence! The variable correction control is great! I have a drawer full of old collars that did not last very long, I am very pleased with this model!

My dog is 1/2 Cairn Terrier and 1/2 something else, probably Pomeranian. She is about 10 lbs. She defends us against all dogs on our busy sidewalk. The bigger the dog, the faster and louder she moves and barks.
This little collar is perfect because it fits well on her tiny neck, but we can set the signal all the way to the strongest setting (5). Its easy to test the setting because the red light flashes to tell us how strong the "shock" is. Anything less than the top setting and she runs right through the fence!
Also, if the battery is low (which happens more than it should because she is constantly standing in the "audible signal" zone) we see the red light flashing before the battery is completely dead. This is important because she learns quickly when the battery is out.
It is easy to take this collar on and off with the snap closure. It is important to be sure it is clipped correctly. We found a lost collar at the bottom of one of her holes.
You can even toss this collar in the washer (after taking the electronics off) -- good for a dog that loves to dig in the mud.

Product replacements are not available in local hardware or pet stores. We love the underground invisible fence system and the replaceable collars. The five levels of intensity help us keep our dogs safe from dangers outside of our property line.

I have approximately 3 acres enclosed with my underground fence. Was the answer to our prayers for keeping our beagle mix inside the boundary and out of the road. Ordered the 2nd collar for my 8 lb yorkie/poo. All I had to set was a 1 on the correction level. No more roaming near either of the 2 road bordering my home.
