Comments about PetSafe PetSafe Wireless Instant Dog Fence:

We have always had to tie our dog Roxie since she liked to run & especially guard the road in front of our house, no one was allowed to walk on it...this posed a huge problem so she had to be kept tied. My daughter had purchased a PetSafe wireless system for her dog & said it was wonderful. I thought for the money, lets give it a try, from the very moment we put Roxie's new collar on her & showed her the boundary we have never had any issues. She's more behaved & actually comes when you call her now, she knows who's boss. She still barks at the people walking but she doesn't bother even going near the road. Thanks PetSafe for making it possible for Roxie to roam & for us to know she's safe from harms way....

I have been using this transmitter for about 11 years. We have trained four dogs with it. We take it with us when we go camping, plug it into an inverter in the truck. Best system I have ever used to contain my dog without an fence. We live in the mountins and do not want a fence. Most of my neightbors are now using it after seeing how good my dogs stay in the yard.

Comments about PetSafe PetSafe Wireless Instant Dog Fence:

I was debating the wireless fence or finish fencing in the backyard(already fenced in on two of 3 sides). The cost would have been about the same. I am not completely satisfied with my decision to go wireless. My property is longer than it is wide. My intent was to give the dog the backyard to play in, but because my property is narrow, he loses out on some of the backyard.

Set-up was easy, training took all of two days and one zap. I just think it was the wrong item for my yard. I advise you really look at your property and where you are going to put the transmitter before you purchase. Of course if you have a very large yard(none of us here do, very residential) than it probably won't be an issue.

Protection around my property and easy access for my dog to protect me when I drive up, garage area and back yard to french doors. My dog has the freedom of not being a lease. Pet Safe Fence is the best item I could buy for my pet and me.

Comments about PetSafe PetSafe Wireless Instant Dog Fence:

It was extremely easy to install the wireless fence, just plugged it in and set a couple of switches. The correction strength on the collar was easy to set, too. I set it to the maximum possible range, and purchased an extra transmitter to extend the range (I have a large house, put one transmitter at each end). When we went on vacation, and left our dog at a relative's house, I just took one of the transmitters with the dog, and plugged it in there.

We had previously used an in-ground fence for several years, but the wire kept breaking and over time the insulation deteriorated, and I got tired of fixing it. Our dog adjusted quickly to the new perimeter, with a little training, but does not like the restricted range. That is my only complaint about this system, we have a large property, and it would be very nice if the range could be increased, FCC regulations permitting. The house walls don't seem to attenuate the signal much, but the ground slopes down from the house, and as a result the perimeter is a little less than the 90 ft maximum radius advertised.
